[How to lap natural skin drum heads by Waywood Music]

Lapping/Tucking Drum Skins

This is NOT as difficult as it sounds.  All you need is a bit of know-how and patience.

The following link takes you to Volcano Percussion based in Hawaii.  Not only do they produce wonderful congas and bongos, but they also provide really EXCELLENT instruction on tucking skin heads.  The instructions are extremely clear, leading you through each step using text and photographs, so that you can be confident of achieving great results.

We followed their advice it really works (and we re-skinned a talking drum!).
